Last month one of our nursing managers Chloe and vet Laura both spotted an online appeal from the RSPCA Australia for donations of bandages, creams and various veterinary equipment to be sent to Australia. These items were desperately needed to help with the vast amount of animal casualties who had fallen victim to the catastrophic bush fires. Both being Australian born and bred, they felt passionate that we should help.
AVG directors Matt and Sarah Gittings quickly started the ball rolling by pledging equipment donated from the practice. Louise who manages the AVG social media then followed this up by appealing on our Facebook page for donations of either dressings, bandages or money donations for us to purchase extra items to send.
We were blown away by the kindness and generosity of our clients at all 5 branches and within a very short time (approx. 72 hours) we had raised £250, receiving generous donations of bandages, syringes and dressings.
This was all packaged up and sent off to the RSPCA hospital in London, where a huge collection of donated items were sent 3 days later directly to Australia.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated.
